I had Jury Duty yesterday and was selected. We came to a verdict and it was over. Since I can’t talked about the actual trial, I’ll talk about the experience.
I learned that the court system is kinda funny. I learned that people don’t like to sit next to each others. There was about 52 seats and 16 of us. Everyone had a good 2 - 4 seat gap from the next person. It was awkwardly quiet for 3 hrs, until I said “where is everyone from?”. I was actually thinking about shouting “Who has a blog?” since everyone in the room was in their early to mid twenties. I was really interested in one of the girls. But then boom the “my boyfriend and I” words came out. After the whole trial was over I knew I made the right verdict, but the look on some of the other jurors faces made be scared. Scared that if I ever get into a court situation these are the people that will determine my outcome. (note to self, avoid the court system)
I also notice that I have this habit of counting drop ceiling squares. You know, the ones you normally see in an office building with florescent lights here and there.
Counts including the slots for florescent lights:
Hall: about 824, assuming the building is symmetric.
Assembly Room: 244
Court Room: 460
Jury Room: 23
I’ve always wanted to be on a jury, but I don’t think I ever will now because of my forensics background. Doh.
